Show A PATRIOTIC ORDER Meeting of the Sons of the American Amer-ican Revolution NEW OFFICERS ELECTED FORTH FOR-TH ENSUING YEAR Nat M Brigham President Dr SEwing S-Ewing VicePresident E H Scott Secretary Hoyt Sherman Jr Treasurer Dr Penrose Beg istrar Major Hill Historian and Prof Matthews Chaplain Slowly but steadily the Utah society Sons of the American Revolution is increasing In strength and influence and the interest of the members in developing the organization is most encouraging ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting for the election of officers and the transaction of other business was held yesterday afternoon sr Iv t 7 l < J IPRSIEN PRESIDENT NAT 2u 3BIGHA3I I Photo by Johnson at Scott the office of the secretary E H NEW MEMBERS Four new members were elected and the various reports showed that the socIety was in a flourishing condition There is much material here to draw from and with the effort that is being made the membership is sure to be increased in-creased considerably during the coming com-ing year A LIBRARY A suggestion that met with favor was the establishment of the nucleus of a library where parties interested may look up their geneologies and stablish members their qualifications to become MUSEUM SUGGESTED Then too at some time In the future there may be established a museum where revolutionary relics can be kept There are a great number of such relics here and nearly every member gle possesses some relic of the great strug THE OFFICERS TE The election of officers was proceeded proceed-ed with and Nat M Brigham United States marshal was the unanimous choIce for president The position is one that Mr Brigham will adorn For vicepresident Dr S Ewing one of the societys active workers was chosen E H Scott who has so ably filled the position of secretary was reelected I secretary For treasurer the choice fell upon Hoyt Sherman jr while Dr Penrose was elected registrar Major Hill historian his-torian and Professor Matthews chaplain chap-lain The managing board is composed of General W H Penrose L H Farnsworth Farns-worth Dr S Ewing Judge Ritchie and Dr Wright At the meeting yesterday Dr W W Betts who was largely instrumental in establishing the society in Salt Lake originally presided |
