BANKERCOLE IS ARRESTED 4 Former President of Globe National In Custody I MISAPPROPRIATION OF FUNDS IS THE CHARGE I Stock of United States MIning Company I Com-pany Involved Will Return to Boston From Los Angeles An-geles Where He Is Being Held Without Causing Any Trouble or Annoyance to the OfficersHas Large Holdings In Utah and Was Recently In Salt Lake Looking After His Properties Los Angeles Dec 23Charles H Cole fonnerly presldenthof the Globe National bank of Boston Is under federal fed-eral surveillance ata hotel in this city Mr Cole Is charged in a complaint mailed today by the Boston authorities with misappropriation and embezzlement embezzle-ment of 900000 on four counts Yesterday United States District Attorney At-torney Flint receIved a letter from the United States district attorney at Boston Bos-ton asking that Cole be taken into custody upon a charge of misappropriation misappropria-tion of the funds of the Glbbe National bank now in the hands of a receiver United State Marshal Osborn proceeded pro-ceeded to the hotel where the Cole family fam-ily was stopping and learned that Mr Cole had gone to Redondo Mr Coles son accompanIed Osborn to his fathers stopping place at Redondo where Mr Cole was informed that the Boston authorities au-thorities had requested his detention Mr Cole agreed to return to Los Angeles Ange-les and disclaimed any intention or desire de-sire to escaDe He stated that the family visited California Cal-Ifornia for the benefit of Mrs Coles I health He assured the officer that he would make no endeavor to avoid the service of the warrant Made Good Losses Later Mr Cole stated that during his long incumbency as president of the Globe National i bank there had been overloans but these he had nade good I from his personal property and this he would demonstrate He Intended to return fn justice to himself to answer all charges and disprove or explain Continued 01 Page 2
