Show i DISCOVERIES ZW RICH COUNTY I Fine Body of Free Milling Gold Ore I Encountered I is gratifying to note that with I other portions of Utah the northern I part of the state is also enjoying Its booms the latest strike of importance I to hear of being from Rich county i near Garden City on the west shores I I of Bear lake where it is reported that I j I recent valuable discoveries have been I i made i In speaking of these finds the Post I I of Paris Ida says j I There is quite a mining excitement I at Garden City and this time the excitement ex-citement is based upon something more than idle talk The hill running north and south along the lake shore southeast o Garden City on the coun I ty road to Lake Town has up to this i writing at least 35 claims staked out I and everybody interested are working their claims Mr Huntsman an ex penenced miner and William H Dus tin own a bonanza on the hill nrth of the gap east iof Hodges ranch These parties have dug in on an incline in-cline about 45 feet and on Saturday last they struck a solid body of ore which according to the last assay showed S20 in gold to the ton which ore is also free milling They expect as soon the as snow disappears or perhaps earlier to have a mill on the ground Mr Huntsman has Ogden capitalists interested and they are go ing to boom the camp The entire hH above described is almost a solid ore body and this spring and summer will witness a genuine mining camp located there The Daisy mine owned by the Rich Cache Milling company is being worked The ore in this mine of which there isan abundance is said to be far richer than that in Tintic district Silas Wilcox is also working his claim above Swan Creek having struck the ore body of silver copper and I galena The Argossa owned by R A Pope 1 Co is also forging ahead rapidly and is making a splendid showing The Herald of Evanston corroborates I the reported discovery and says I Mr and Mrs E S Bisbing of Gar I I i den City Utah came in town on Wednesday I I Wed-nesday and are visiting their daughter and soninlaw Mr and Mrs B F I Tregea Mrs Bisbing gave us some I I particulars of what is believed to be a I rich gold discovery in his locality An Ogden company represented by Mr I Huntsman has run a tunnel into the mountain side a distance of 25 feet on apparently a true vein the rock of which assays 925 in gold to the ton I They are still at work driving the tunnel tun-nel The discovery extends along the shore of Bear lake and from Lake I town to Garden City a distance of ten miles and claims have been staked I over nearly the entire distance He II I says excitement is running high in that locality many people feeling confident that they have a bonanza Mr Bis I bing was one of the pioneers of Evanston Evan-ston and at one time for many years kept a furniture store |
