| Show Vein Uncovered In the Das 1ercur Sept 29Vhie excavating the ground for the enlargement o the Daisy mill yesterday a rein of good ore was uncovered about 60 feet back from the vein at present being developed devel-oped Thc new vqin is eight feet thick at the surface and assays show the averae value to be a little over 6 The vein is much larer and richer at the surface than the original Daisy vein which was sufficient to justify extensive prospecting and whidh has so splendidly rewarded the owners In a few days a drift will be started eastward from the 300foot level to cut thE back vein at that depth The work of enlarging the mill Is progressing the excavation work is 1 completed and the lumber is on the round In the mine developments are showing show-ing an increase in values In the main jl incline the face shows an average value of 12 and the drift on the third level showed an average value of 16 The discovery of a second vein OI the west dip is not new When the La Cigale mill was being built the lower Or second vein was uncovered and there is at resent a drift being run eastward east-ward from the main incline to taD this vein at a depth of about 400 feet below the surface I looks as if the experience exper-ience of the Mercur and others would be repeated on the west SIp The La Cigale roaster If being taken to the west dip and the work of la Tin T-in the brick is well advanced I is expected that the work will be completed com-pleted by the end of October |
