LOST I T1 STORIt Thrilling Experience of Messrs Snyder Sny-der andMeteer Special Correspondence Richfield March 3OMesrs John Je tepr of this place add Gon Snyder Qf I Salt Lake had an exciting and thrilling I experience while on Gold mountain last J welt They started out on snowshoes to I go from time Annie Laurie mine to James Longs mh enN 1tk were experts with II he snowshoes 11 1leteer never having I been on them before They were overtaken over-taken by a very severe snowstorm end soon lost the tri They were InsUucted J to turn from a certain dump but the deep snow and the blinding stOrm obliterated I i ald they passed beyond timid soon found I tlienmselvcs In getting in back a box out canyon of the canyon Mr I Meteer became exhausted and fell off his l1Eteer snowshoes severat times The snow was deep and sor several ad he sank in to his shoulders and It was with great difculy that he could again get on top of his I snowshoes Twice he was save from a fall down dangerous cliffs by extreme ex ertion and fortunate crcumstance j Finally they got on top of a rIdge Flnal digging down In the snoW in hope of finding gomnething with which to start a fire found the dump which the had passed by They soon got to shelter at Johnsons having been out in the storm four hours and a hnfrlet having traveled I no farther than a quarter of a mile away farter Mr Outzen was more successful in rank inc the trip a little later but snowshoes being a new thing to him he was about exhausted when he reached his < estnaI i ton
