the north side of the river and having the bridge put in in at the mouth of the canyon was discussed and on motion of commissioner hatch the matternas matter was referred to the committee of the whole with full ful power to order the location of the road changed to the north side of the river if in their judgment the change would best the interests of the public and commissioner nalder was authorized to sign any contract or contracts that may be necessary on behalf of the court for tile the construction of an iron bridge either at the mouth of tile the canyon or where the old bridge stood and as decided upon by said committee of the whole and it was that said committee meet with a commit tee from weber county and representatives senta benta tives of the davis weber counties canal buil building dincy a new bridge in weber canyon reported as follows your committee of the whole to whom was referred the matter of putting in a new bridge in weber canyon and considering the advisability of changing the road to the north side of the river beg to report that we met in weber canyon with the commissioners of weber county and L 13 adams and E P ellison representatives of the canal company and together went over the location of the proposed load which in our judgment would make a better road when put in repair but to put the same in as good a condition as the present road would require tile the expenditure of about 1500 the bridge at the mouth of the canyon will cost the same as one at the old site the canal company offered days day work towards building the road on the north side and the commissioners of weber county would pay the sum of and turn over the taxes from the U P ry co from the mouth of the canyon up tile the county line provided that davis county build the bridge and assume the malting making and keeping in in repair of the canyon road from the mouth of the canyon to the east line of the county after consideration your committee decided that an account of the outlay required it would not justify davis county in making the change and that the bridge should be built at or near the old site it further decided by your committee in connection with the commissioners of weber county that an iron bridge with feet span and fourteen feet wide be put in at or near the site of the old bridge and that new abut ments he be put in we beg further to report that we contracted for the putting in of an iton iron bridge toa to be completed on or before july 1896 to the andrews bridge co tor for the sum of 1900 to be paid for conjointly by the two counties we further report that we decided to let the construction of tile the abutments to the best bidder after notice the abutments to be completed on or before july 10 1896 to be paid for jointly
