representing that certain parties were destroying his property at lake shore and asking protection to his property properly was read mr rich was heard and made a statement of damage alleged to have been done on motion of selectman nalder the matter was taken under advisement A petition of robert J firth and twenty six others asking to have a road located on quarter section line running east and west through sections 35 and 36 N R 1 W west of highway no 4 was presented and referred to selectman nalder the resignation of B E 31 whitesides as justice of the peace of layton precinct was presented and accepted to take effect upon the appointment and qualification of his successor the matter of the petition E E rich was taken up and on motion of selectman nalder the matter was referred to a committee cot consisting of judge brandon selectman hatch and the attorney to anve investigate ate the matter with power to procure legal advice as to the countes coun tys power and jurisdiction in the premises CH C H smith and WE smith tree inspectors reported they had visited their districts the people were living up to the requirements of the law D A sanders and other owners of land in the vicinity of walker lane reported that the crossings of the U P and ff S railways were in a bad condition partly on account of the two crossings being so close together longer approaches are needed on the east and west and graded up between the tracks asked that the same be made passable as the petitioners petition ers coulta not haul their bay until the crossings were fixed in shape on motion of selectman nalder the matter was referred to selectman rockwood with instructions to see that the crossings are made passable and the clerk was instructed to write the I iary co and call their attention to the condition of the crossing slid and also the crossings at chases and pages lanes and ask that the same be fixed without delay the attorney reported he be had audited the docket of K R
