brandon probate judge and selectmen nalder hath hatch and C W rockwood Mint minutes ites of session held jan ath 1895 were read and approved man nalder reported he be had visited the locality and gone over the hie premises where J A grover et al petitions for a road in steed precinct was of the opinion that the road petitioned for should be opened to the use of the public selectman nalder also reported that lie lad had received information that two crossings on the line of the R G W ry track had been removed on motion of selectman hatch the clerk was instructed to write to the superintendent of said aid company demanding candid 0 that the crossings be replaced forthwith the attorney reported the road to davis canyon had been opened and the complaint against J F wilcox had bad been withdrawn ile he also reported that rasmus lunn over whose land the road runs had entered suit for damages against J W steed road supervisor on motion of selectman hatch the attorney was instructed to answer the complaint the supervisor having acted under authority of the court P P terr terry y presented a claim for the burial of elisha miller killed by a train 0 on n the line of the rio grande ry railway the claim was tabled until it would be ascertained whether the estate of said deceased was solvent or insolvent selectman nalder reported he be had bad received a communication from ex judge 0 haight relative to the claim of william blood for putting in a br bridge idge neat the R G W ry depot at kaysville Kays ville which claim was allowed fn an october 1893 on condition that mr blood have the road made to a width of two rods roda mr laight haight thought mr blood had done all he could to get the road made wider but failed thought his bill should be allowed on a motion selectmen rockwood and nalder were appointed a committee to investigate the matter of the claim and the advisability vis ability of having the road made wider U C 11 II smith tree inspector addressed the court in relation to tree inspection recommended that the work of inspection be commenced earlier the present year and further recommended that a pamphlet containing statistics etc in relation to horticulture be compiled and published the tree inspector was authorized to expend 15 for said pur purpose poso the petition of robert ure and three others in relation to a certain water amounting to which were audi audited terl and approved and the alie clerk instructed to draw warrant in favor of the cl collector lector for for said amount it being behig represented to the court that one polly crocket residing at kaysville Kays ville is in a I 1 delicate condition and in need of help financially on motion the clerk was instructed to draw warrant for her support port at the rate of 84 4 per month begian beginning ing i jau jan ast 1st 1895 for and during the pleasure of the court lambert blamires reported that thai the road in liis his district near mr edmund webbs was in a bad condition the matter was referred to selectmen nalder and rockwood to investigate vesti t gate in connection with the other road matter in that vicinity W C B allen alien appeared before the court and verbally petitioned the court to allowed him to redeem his land from the operation of tax sale for the amount of the taxes and costs of sale but without interest for the reason that the land was assessed at a much higher rate than adjoining land after due consideration mr allen alien was allowed to redeem his bis land without the stipulated interest upon payment of the balance due cowit he having paid the sum of the amount of tax and costs at date of sale or in lieu of said first amount the county would accept his note for six months with one or more en dorsers to be approved by the court said note drawing interest at the rate of 8 per cent per annum upon the receipt of the above amount or the said note the probate judge was authorized to issue redemption demp tion the matter of the petition of J A grover at and others was laid over till next session as was ralso also the matter of determining the amount of the school fund to be set aside for the expense of the county institute the proposal of J E robinson to amend the assessors plats to date for 15 cents a transfer was accepted ou on motion of selectman nalder an appropriation of 5 was made to M E roberts an order to help pay her taxes for 1894 adjourned to monday feb 1895 koths ON TUE THE SIDE about thirty sleighs loaded down with the rising generation who are attending the public schools were out on friday and took a spin down to bountiful the juveniles were much pleased with their out large quantities of ice are being baioa put up this winter the county court had an unusually busy day on monday working 11 until after dark judge brandon recommends reco mends that the county roads be kept in repair in a different manner this season than heretofore ile he thinks it will be cheap er to employ certain men to look after certain pieces of roads to make necessary nece repairs than to to let everybody work at them and will do i it t much cheaper just after court adjourned county clerk phillips suggested to some of the members of the court that steps be taken to help t the nebraska Ne brasta sufferers county attorney wilcox referred to the herald a and n d read that there were nearly car loads of provisions p rovis at al the depot at omaha for the people who are arc in need and further that some cars had been there for two weeks waiting wailing to be unloaded there were something over steadily improving while attending to some business at court on monday prest grants horse got loose from the hitching post in front of the court house and crossed the street running into a pile of
