Show RULES AND regulations rules and regulations for the inspection of live stock and their products within the limits of davis county utah territory 1st ast there is hereby appointed by the county court of davis county utah territory three or more meat inspectors in and for said county whose headquarters and place of inspection spec tion shall be as follows to wit one at gilbert parkers residence syracuse in said county one at J S IVAl walkers kers rei residence dence syracuse in in said county and one at evans companas Comp anys store layton in said county whose duty it shall be to inspect on the hoof all cattle sheep or hogs which are in bened for immediate slaughter 7 and consumption for food within said county provided that inspection of animals may be made at the resi dence of owners at their option by paying the inspectors bilelo mileage me as hereinafter provided 2nd and the said meat inspectors so appointed by said county court shall have the right to condemn any carcass carcasses of parts thereof of any cattle sheep or swine which they may find after examination to be unfit for food and shall order the owner to destroy the same in such A 9 manner as may bo be acceptable to i said kid inspectors 3rd ard all cattle sheep and swine iwine intended for immediate slaughter and consumption for food in said conty shall be to tb the meat inspector the day before being 11 slaughtered W and examined by him and he shall upon such examination give the owner or owners thereof a certificate in writing whether said animal or animals satisfactorily pass such inspection or are condemned by him as unfit for food ath the carcasses of all animals so inspected on hoof after being beida slaughtered and before being offered or exposed for sale shall again be inspected ins by the meat inspector aud and such carcass or carcasses is as may pass such inspection shall be marked with a tag similar to that used by the government of the united states in the bureau of animal industry provided that nothing in these enles contained shall be colstr construed ned to to prevent any person from slaughtering ing without inspection any heally fealty animal the meat of which is intended for his own ath all animals found upon inspection spec tion to be affected as follows are to be condemned and the hie carcasses thereof stamped with a condemnation dem nation stamp supplied by the county and the inspectors will see that said carcasses are properly disposed of in such manner as shall b be e deemed proper for tle the protection of the public fie health alth hog cholera swine plague carbon or anthrax malignant epizootic catarrh and septicaemia mange or scab advanced stage of autino mycosis or lumpy jiw inflammation of the lungs OP or of the intestines inte texas fever extensive or generalized tuberculosis animals in ici an advanced stage of pregnancy or which have recently given birth to and any disease or anything causing elevation of temperature or affecting the system of the animal to a degree which would make the flesh unfit for food cah any organ or any part of a carcass which is badly bruised or affected by tuberculosis bosis aba abscess cess sore or tape ape wona cysts should invariably be condemned ath the inspectors for their services in inspecting animals or car asses as herein provided are arc authorized zed to charge as follows for hogs sheep and calves live five cents eaf ech h for cattle ten cents each provided that for all hogs sheep calves and cattle or carcasses thereof in excess ot of five so inspected aud and belonging to one owner or company only one I 1 half the above rates shall be charged arged ih provided also that the inspector ns shall also be entitled to the sum of ten cents per mile for the distance necessarily traveled from his place of residence to the place of inspection said fees and mileage to be paid by the person or company having the animals or carcasses inspected eth in III addition to the foregoing 0 rules and regulation regulations 9 chapter 80 of the session laws of utah 1891 1894 providing for the inspection of animals i and meats m cats entitled an act to prevent tins tile exposure for sale of unwholesome meats eti insofar ai said act is applicable together with the penalties prescribed for a violation thereof is adopted as a part of the above and foregoing rules and regulations adopted by tile th e county court of davis county monday october 1894 THOMAS J judge IV WM 1 I N NALDER I 1 1 1 I DAVID COOK selectmen sele detmen D 1 NIEL LEE I 1 it attest SEAL Tu oMAsU II 11 PHILLIPS PHILLIP S co clerk |
