A am 3 1 TAE ra 1 the undersigner undersigned under signed wish to say that I 1 think the CLIPPER was too hard on me in the last issue I 1 wish to say that I 1 did find the coal up in the canyon it was not the ledge 0 but only a place where some one had deposited some coal I 1 took all there was and brought it town down and told john thurgood where I 1 got it and lie he said it was where his ledge was lie he said if I 1 would keep still be would give me one eight of the mine I 1 did not ask him for it and was not trying to swindle him it was his own proposition I 1 thought there was a ledge and that I 1 could fin 1 I lit it even if he did not tell me I 1 am willing to take the blame I 1 deserve but I 1 am not willing to take it all WM 31
