| Show TILE RAILWAY FACILITIES Both Road 31nke Ample Preparations for Handling Ins Traffic There will be no lack of transportation facilities Superintendents Young of the Union Pacific and Welby of the Rio Grande Western have abundant equipment equip-ment available to handle all that may come and more too For the past ten days Union Pacific coaches have been coming in from Oregon Kansas City the Fort Worth line and in fact from every part of the system where they could be spared There are now concentrated at this city sixtyfive extra coaches forty I at Ogden and twentythree on the Idaho division Superintendent Young also has four new locomotives of the 800 type four of the 400 type and nine ten wheelers three of them just out of the shop and the rest in firstclass shape Mr Young says his road alone can handle 25 to 3000 people daily They handled han-dled the business of the fast conference without trouble with but twenty extra coaches and they uow have 130 There need be no fears said Superintendent Super-intendent Young about our handling I all the business that comes to us In addition t other preparations the Union Pacific has been extending the the platforms at all stations south to accommodate ac-commodate the crowds of passengers There will be four Union Pacihc trains daily each way between Salt Lake city and Ogden and three between here and I Provo PREPARATIONS ON THE WESTERN Superintendent Welby of the Western I states that his road is in splendid shape to handle the crowds A number of coaches have been rented from the Denver Bio Grande and altogether the Western has over forty coaches concentrated here in addition to those in the regular service There is abundance of locomotives and all the equipment is in firstclass shape The Western officials anticipate an extremely I ex-tremely heavy traffic over the Salina branch The counties of San Pete S vier Pluto and the country south are tributary to this line There will be special train rice given by the Western between Ogden and Salt Lake and on special days extra trains will be run from southern points I Under the now western time card which went into effect yesterday the j I train from the south and Tintic that I reached here at 1030 a ni will arrive at 10 The afternoon train for the south now leaves at 505 instead of 405 reaching Provo at 625 The north bound train from the south leaves Provo at 410 instead in-stead of 352 arriving here at 539 EIGHT THOUSAND A DAY It will be seen that both roads have a total of almost 203 extra coaches available for the conference traffic in addition to those in the regular service I half of these are in use each day 3000 people could be brought into the city daily with these coaches But many of them will I make two trips into the city daily and taRing this into consideration and the number of regular coaches in service it is serce not an overestimate to say that the two I loads can brine 8000 people into the city daily I |
