Show IT V ILL BE UTAH DAY ON MONDAY NEXT The Committee Will Then Consider Con-sider the Utah Admission Bill AN EARLY REPORT ASSURED A Settlement of the Silver Question I in Sight The Silver Men Are Not Entirely Satisfied but They Regard I as a Great Victory Everything Considered n Washington D C Oct 20Special The House territories committee has fixed Monday next to specially consider con-sider the Utah admission bill having cleared up other matters that were in the way I is thought the bill will be speedily reported as most of the provisions have already been considered con-sidered by members of the committee An early report is desired so as to give the bill a high place on the gve calendar An effort will be made to get it there before Congress takes a recess I is generally believed recess will of the I promptly follow a settlement financial question The settlement is now in sight and while the silver men are not entirely satisfied with the plan proposed by the compromise they will regard it as a great triumph when the fact is remembered that the original demand of the advocates of unconditional rep at would have left the country on a single gold standard basis The air is full of compromise talk and the situation Is such that it is compromise or nothing Mr Rawlins is assured the House committee on military affairs will report re-port favorably his bill setting apart a portion of the Fort Douglas reservation reserva-tion to the Utah university The delay has been caused by General McCooks report He will make a favorable recommendation re-commendation |
