Show ANOTHER DAMAGE SUIT I Charles Nelson Claims 85000 from W J Tuudenhatu et al a1 The last case on trial before Judge Zane yesterday was that of Charles Nelson vs W J Tuddenham George Curley and Charles J Brain The complainant alleges that on July 16 1892 he was employed by the defendants de-fendants to wprk on the Brigham Young Trust building for the construction con-struction of which the defendants had the contract That the defendants had carelessly and negligently allowed a certain elevator used for hoisting brick to remain out of repair and in an I unsafe condition and that plaintiff was properly riding in same when it broke and plaintiff fell a distance of twelve feet hurting him about the head I feet hurtng and shoulders and permanently injuring his spine for which he claims the sum of 55000 damages Attorneys Straup and Harris appeared ap-peared for the plaintiff and Rawlins Critchlow for the defendants The case was proceeded with until the hour of adjournment and wi unt resumed this morning THREE FOOTPADS ARRAIGNED They Plead Not Guilty and the Trial Goes Over Olaf Anderson Robert Brinton and Alfred Honey were arraigned before Chief Justice Zane yesterday on three indictments of the grand jury charging charg-ing them with robbery and grand larceny lar-ceny Defendants all pleaded not guilty Attorney Barlow Ferguson appeared ap-peared for Brinton and Attorney H E Booth was appointed to defend Anderson Ander-son and Honey These are the three men arrested by the police for holding up a number of people in the southeastern south-eastern part of the city The first indictment charges that on November 9 they robbed 11 C Philips of a gold watch and chain a pocketknife pocket-knife and a bunch of keys in the second they are charged with robbing William C Carlson of 30 cents and In the other with taking 25 cents a pocket knife and a handkerchief from George Schoenbaum The latter two crimes it Is charged were committed on November 10 The trial will likely go over until the February term Judgments Entered Judgments were yesterday entered in the Third district court as follows Henry Schroeder vs C H Wilbur for the plaintiff for 95530 John Harris vs Mary Ann Barfoot et al judgment for the plaintiff in the sum of 208125 208125 C E Louder vs C B Wantland for the plaintiff for 240317 Rio Grande Western Railway company com-pany vs Christian Rendlesbacher for the plaintiff in the sum of 16720 E V Davis vs John A Kirby and Charlotte I Kirby for the plaintiff in the sum of 20180 and 18731 abstracts I ab-stracts from Justice Lochrie |
