| Show A SUICIDE FOUND Richard Peters Speeds Two Bullets Bul-lets Through His Head DISSIPATION WAS THE CAUSE The Inquest Over the Remains Will beHeld be-Held by Coroner Harris IbIs Afternoon At about 1 oclock yesterday afternoon two men were walking along Seventh South street between Sixth aud Seventh West and in passing through a clump ol willows a horrible sight met their gaze Stretched out on the ground was the lifeless life-less body of a man In the right temple was a bullet hole and in the right check I was another gunshot wound Between the legs was a i2calibre pistol containing two empty shells and one loaded cartridge From the situation of the body it appeared that the man had sat down and deliberately shot himself twice first in the cheek and then in the temple Everything indicated that it was a case of suicide Tho man had a cold chain and a silver watch two gold rings and a pocketknife pocket-knife There was nothing by which his identity could be established and Coroner Coro-ner Harris had the remains removed to the morgue in the Utah Undertaking companys establishment near the St James hotel and will hold an inquest at 2 p m today The deceased was a man of about average height and build about 30 years of age and wore a black felt hat aseoraucuer coat and vest and light trousers The pocket knife found on his person had been used in mixing mix-ing paint and from this it was thought that the man was a painter and the circumstances circum-stances indicate that the remains are those of Richard Peters who resided in the First Burlington addition Peters was married about eleven months ago ana of late he has been gambling and dissipating and succeeded in losing his horse and wagon and whatever money he had He was very despondent on Sunday aud at U oclock Tuesday morning he took his revolver re-volver and left home About an hour later his wife found a letter which he nad written to her and in it ho confessed that he had been gambling end announced his intention of killing himself Toe frightened woman got a neighbor to try to find her husband but he did not succeed Word was sent to Mrs Peters last evening even-ing and she visited the morgue and identified identi-fied the remains as those of her husband |
