Show lIBBY TALLlY Mineral Resources ot the District Do scribed by a iehi Man W Sunderland of Lehi writing to the Banner concerning Ruby valley Nev says of the mineral resources of that district 1 Its mineral resources are good and I believe permanent but somewhat deep because of the hard granite and mica formations that exist in this range The upper portion of these mountains are mica and granite with culcite and spar therefore the blow outs or evidences of mineral are few but where croppings do burst forth they give unmistakable evidence of richness There Is iron gold silver lead zinc copper etc Judging from what I see around here in these moun tains I think copper will be the most permanent with a few pay streaks of gold and silver gold will be found also with the copper because of the copper pyrites containing gold manganese is also mixed with the copper Rubies are also plentiful but somewhat charged with iron therefore somewhal dark color and of uncertain value the small ones are bright but the large ones of which we have a great num ber are black and dull some of the samples tested which are just crop pings or surface rock and carrying from 12 to 30 per cent copper with gold and silver and some 2 to 3 gold and 6 to S ounces silver and 20 to 30 percent per-cent lead One sure means of developing devel-oping this valley would be to utilize its water power for necessary indus tries and laborsaving devices of which many could be named |
