Show THE ADVISORY BOARDS ADDRESS To Abstain from All Violence tina Illy on the Cinrw far Remedy HOMESTEAD July 22The strikers advisory ad-visory board issued an address to tho men and public generally this morning The address calls attention to the tendency to concentrate business in the hands of a few men giving them despotic power over the employ ccs who constitute the great mass ot the people Instead of being the right of the employers to manage their own business it is coming to mean the right to manage the country The employees of the Carnegie company tt Homstcad have built up the town worked falthlully with tho company forman for-man years in the business of the mills invested thousands of dollars of their sayIngs L say-ings in the mill in expectation of working there us lone as they were able t work I Tho government taxes tho country to foster his business and the state of Penn ujlv nia is spending large sums to protect the mills Therefore the belief is expressed ex-pressed that tie employees and the public haVe equitable rights in thee mills that employees have a right t continuous employment em-ployment without regard to either religious relig-ious political or trades unions affiliations end that the position of the company is unconstitutional un-constitutional anarchistic revolutionary and in contempt of the public and private interests It adds The committee wishes it known that we vtlll prosecute acid public end private vate interests in the courts of law and equity and wo demand of Congress and the state legislature tho distinct assertion of I the princjjle that the public has an interest inter-est in such concerns as that at Homestead end that the state has a duty to judge the affairs of such concerns when the occasion may require The address closes with the pledge t abstain ab-stain from all violence and rest on the courts lor remedy |
