Show I C Crane Will low Subside Readers of The Herald will remember remem-ber the following telegram published a few days ago 1 I Provo Sept 24 1894 J R Ietcher I Louis Christiansen of Spring City < 7 > 0 deputy registrar will permit no one to examine the registration books except JLS to his own name and this applies to Gunnison and other places in Sanpete I ounty Letcher this is an outrage and i travesty on justice CHARLES CRANE Mr Norrell who was in Sanpete was wired by Chairman Letcher to attend to the matter Now comes Mr Louis Christiansen and gives C Crane of Kanosh the following fol-lowing I Spring City Sept 25 1894 To the honorable the Utah Commissioners Commis-sioners Gentlemen received a letter this morning from Hon A G Norrell stating stat-ing that he had called on me on the 22d I was not at home The letter states that complaint has been filed with your honorable body to the I fit ct that I did not allow sufficient examination examin-ation of the registration list In answer an-swer to said complaint I will say that on the 22d R W Livingston a leading Republican of Spring City called at my office and asked the privilege of taking a copy of the registration list The request re-quest I refuse He said the registration registra-tion list was public property I told him it would be public property when posted This is all that I am aware of In my house to h uise cjiivass I was ery particular in showing every voter that his name was on the lst Respectfully LOUIS 1f CHRISTIANSEN Deputy Registrar Sortnir City Crane will probably subside |
