ago a largo number of the residents of the western portion of the county petitioned tbo county court for the removal of Road Supervisor Wallace alleging alleg-ing that he had been guilty of dishonest practices The petition was filed and tbe signers wera subpoenaed to testify and sustain sus-tain the accusations They came into court ready they asserted to prove all that they bad alleged and more too i it should ba necessary Tie hearing was then postPoned for a couple of weeks but Wallace evidently did not dslre sn investigation investi-gation for yesterday ho handed in his resignation and Alexander jMuirbrook was appointed to fill the vacancy A PETITION DENIEP The petition of James Johnson and others who asked to be severed from the Sixtyslxth school district and restored to tho Tncnt ninth was denied TO ADJUST EQUITIES On recommendation of the county superintendent super-intendent of schools a commit e was appointed ap-pointed to meet wIth the trastees of the Sixtysixth and
