Show IN JUDGE ZANES COURT A Very Light DayThe Grand Jury Reports ThreA Indictments But little business was transacted before Judge Zane yesterday The grand jurors came I into the court the morning and reported two indictments under United States laws and one under territorial laws In the case of 311E Harvey vs William Ham mond the plaintiff was allowed thirty days in which to filestatement motion for a new trial The case of Clarence Garland indicted for manslaughter came up in the afternoon on de murrer to the indictment The matter was argued by Colonel Ferguson for the defendant and C S Varian for the prosecution and the demurrer was overruled LJohn J Stocking indicted for perjury was arraigned and plcaaed not guilty In the case of Werthimer et al vs Peter Clays the defendant failed to appear and judg ment was rendered for the plaintiff for 5500 J N Hughes applied to be admitted as an at torney and Messis Ferguson Bowman and Norrel were appointed to examine him and re port Adjourned until this morning 10 |
