Show MORMONS WYOMING V The Good Work Being Done In Ulnta and V Sweetwater Counties V A Mormon colony of 200 families has located V cated in tho rich lands watered by Big Sandy creek in Uinta and Sweetwater counties Wyo These lands were formerly owned by tho Big Sandy Irrigation and Improvement Im-provement company which failed when George Crofutt became weary of tho apathy of eastern stockholders and threw up the sponge The Mormon colonists are constructing a canal thirty feet wide on the bottom which when completed will cost nearly 1000000 have built a church and a school have improved the road to the railway station and are erecting good houses They expect to raise a very large crop next year and a flouring mill will be in readiness by harvest time The Cheyenne Chey-enne Sun remarks that the establishment of this colony will greatly increase tho wealth of Western Wyoming help the population and is a big thing for the state all around Denver iVcirs |
