Show IT DOESNT KNOW THE HERALD apprehends that the national Republican committee was not fully advised ad-vised as to the local situation or it would not have adopted the resolution advising the discordant Republicans in Utah to unite and rescue the territory from the danger and dishonor of future Democratic control Impudent and assertive as your I average Republican is he would not knowIngly i know-ingly make himself so ridiculous as the committee has done in this resolution Why i if all factions of the Republican party were t to harmonize there wouldnt be enough of them to disturb the confident serenity of the most nervous calamityfearing Democrat Last August the Democracy rolled up such majorities that the morning following the election the Republicans were all sick some of them so much so that they have to this day manifested mani-fested no sign of recovery And then it must be remembered the Democracy was not three months old and there were scores of towns in which not a single Democratic speech had been delivered Where ever Democratic meetings were held and the principles of the glor ious old party of popular government gov-ernment were elaborated the prob lem as to which party would have the voters was at once solved That was because be-cause the people of Utah are bright and intelligent and are reasoners Since then the Democracy has been gaining in num bers with a rapidity which must be start ling to the enemy though it doesnt surprise sur-prise anybody who is familiar with the good people of the Utah community Talk about this territory being rescued from Democratic controll 1 Tho suggestion is ludicrous The committee is certainly in the dark or it would not make such a break as that in the resolution re ferred to |
