Show The Citizens Meeting The citizens meeting called by the real estate board at the chamber of commerce last evening was well attended H W Lawrence was called to the chair and he stated briefly the object of the meeting meet-ing Mr Desky of the real estate board stilted that he and Mr Lynch had waited upon President Angus M Cannon and had obtained his consent to the repetition of the concert in the Tabernacle He also stated tat Mr Radcliffc had been engaged for the occasion and that Mr Cannon had agreed to do all in his power to aid in the movement He had even volunteered to furnish the gas for lighting the building and all the necessary attendants free of charge John T Lynch stated that Mr Cannon Mr Beezley and Mr Savage had agreed to take the concert into their own hands and he was satisfied that they would do all that could possibly be done Messrs R W Sloan and II G Whitney were added to the committee to act wit Messrs Lynch and Desky ritOM THE s L Jt F D W W Mackintosh on behalf of the Salt Lake Fort Douglas railway company tendered I ten-dered the use of a special train over his road to the committee for the visitors The offer was accepted with thanks and turned over to the committee Tile COMMITTEE AVfiMEXTCP It was deemed advisable to appoint a committee on arrangements from the meeting meet-ing and it was finally agreed to accept the committee appointed by the directors of the chamber of commerce with the addition tion of Messrs Lynch Desky Whitney and Sloan TO SlEET THE VIMTOIS J II Bennett of the D II G offered to furnish a special train to carry a committee com-mittee appointed by the meeting to Provo or some other point on his road to meet the visitors Governor West Mayor Armstrong Arm-strong President Lawrence of she chamber cham-ber of commerce and City Recorder Well were chosen as such committee UCSOUTTIOX Of TIIlNKi On motion of Mr Desky the following was put before the house and unanimously carried Jlefotfeil That we tender cur sincere thank to the ladies and gentlemen who have so generously gener-ously consented to appear in the entertainment of our Colorado guests and particularly to President Angus 31 Cannon who gives the use of the tabernacle and to Professor Ueezley antIC antI-C It Savage of the committee having the recital re-cital lln charge for their tend endeavors and aituare THE CCOBIOPATIOXi Mr Trewcek who had been appointed a committee of one on hotel accommodations reported that the various houses could take guests as follows Walker House people Continental 1 > Chit M Metropolitan IQ 75 Cullen 0 no COSt CO-St James 10 Valley n 40 Total KG people The meeting then Mjourned the committee commit-tee on arrangements remaining to perfect heir plans |
