Show CI1Y CliEKIC CANYON Tae resolution adopted by the City Council at its last meeting concerning Uity Creek Canyon should ba acted upon at once so far as it relates to the construction of a carriage road through that gorge A drive in the canyon would be far more attractive than any drive whioh can be made elsewhere City Creek Canyon is a charm I ingly picturesque opening through the mountains and while it doos not present the rugged aweinspiring scenery to be found in the Cottonwoods and other rocky gorges the views are everywhere romantic and at points grand A broad well r1ded road would make the canyon a highly popular resort for those who want to escape from the noise bustle and dust of the city If the corporation nas the power to do so it should also prevent fishing in the creek and thus permit the stream to become as it once was alive with handsome mountain trout If stock shall be kept out of the canyon the trees and brush left undisturbed un-disturbed and a good road constructed it will be only a few years before City Creek will be a most charming spo the delight of our own peorle and liighly attractive to strangers The little money which the necessary improvements im-provements will cost w11 not be begrudged be-grudged by the people |
