Show Singular Coincidence NEW YORK February 2The Tribune publishes a significant interview with a prominent diplomatist at Washington which is in line with the Paris dispatch to tbe Associated Press last night in which is pointed cut the singular coincidence of the mysterious deaths of Prince Rudolph Ru-dolph Gambetta General Skobolff King Ludwig of Bavaria and others all of whom werepersons that Bismarck had occasion to fear The interview points out that Rudolph was opposed to the ascendency of Germany in the triple alliance that upon his accession to the throne he would doubtless have been made King of Bohemia and that the fact of his friendship for Clemencean and Bou lauger is well known It points out that the same fate has worked to Bis marcks advantage through the most extraordinary series of tragic coincidences coinci-dences It declares Bismarck knew eight hours in advance of the attempt upon the life of the Czar when with Louis Napoleon in 1867 but allowed it to be done knowing it would prevent the alliance of France and Russia which would have rendered the Franco German war impossible |
