Show CAUTION TO WATER TAKEKSDONT WASTE TIlE WATER The attention of all persons using water through the city water mains is respectfully respect-fully invited to the following provisions of city ordinance SECTION Sprinklers for lawns gardens gar-dens yards and sidewalks must be used only for the purpose paleS for and no sprinkler shall be used for sprinkling the streets or sidewalk unless such privilege is paid for accordingly No nozzle for sprinkling shall be larger then onefourth of an inch in diameter and no sprinkler tball be allowed except in connection with other water service The city is hereby divided into two sprinkling ndistricts All that portion of the city lying east and north of the following follow-ing boundaries isherebymade and declared to be the upper sprinkling district towit Commencing ai the intersection of First West and Seventh North streets and running run-ning thence south along said First West street to Second North street thence east along said Second North street to Apple street thence southeasterly along Apple street to First North street thence cast along First North street to East Temple Tem-ple street thence south along East Temple street to North Temple street thence cast along North Temple street to First East street thence south along First East street to South Temple street thence cast along South Temple street to Sixth East street thence south along Sixth East street to Liberty Park And all persons I taking water from the mains on South I Temple street east of First East street i and those taking from tho mains on Sixth East street shall be deemed to belong to i said upper district I All that portion of the city lying west and south of the foregoing boundaries is I hereby made and declared to be the lower I sprinkling district Sprinklers for lawns sidewalks streets windows and fronts in the upper district I must be used only between the hours of 0 and fl oclock am and J4 and S oclock pm and in the lower district between the I hours of Sand 10 oclock am and and 9 oclockpm during the months of July August September and October of each Ii year Thirty minutes time each day shall be allowed for the sprinkling of each one hundred square yards of lawn in the upper district and twenty minutes each day for the same area in the lower district Any person violating any of the provisions provi-sions of this section or of any proclamation proclama-tion made by the mayor in pursuance hereof shall upon conviction be fined in any sum not exceeding ten dollars for the first offense and not exceeding twenty dollars dol-lars for each subsequent ffense The present seasons extreme drought renders the strict enforcement of these revisions an imperative necessity It is hoped all consumers will appreciate the situation and in addition to the observance of tho above requirements bo as economical economi-cal in the use of the water as possible Respectfully S G M OTTiNGEit supt waterworks |
