Show BUBGL ABIES The City Infested With a Gang of Midnight Thieves From the number burglaries which have been committed of late it would seem that a gjng of robbers have descended de-scended upon the city Last Wednesday II night thieves entered the residence of i Mr Louis Cohn on First Street I in the Twentieth Ward and succeeded in making away with a number of solid silver tea spoons napkin rinks and a soup ladle to the value of almost 150 All of the articles were engraved with the initials C L C or L CM and on the same night a sneak thief entered the re dance of W S McCorniok and stole from a coat which was hanging on a rack a small amount of money Burglaries have also been committed at the residence of Mr Kirkpatrick and the Oveiland House at the latter place a cabinet was rifleu and a nnm oar of coins including two English sovereigns a number of silver pieces and tome currency were taken A few nights ago a thief had just gained entrance into a residence near the corner of Thiru South and Fourth Edit Streets when his presence was discovered dis-covered bv the inmates and he retired A lady living in the southern part of the city ruceutlv placed a ham which she had just boiled in a window to cool Late in the evening it was found that the ham had disappeared |
