Show The Capitol Hill Commission A meeting of the Capitol hill commission was held at the Governors office yesterday afternoon at which a full quorum was pre sent A motion was made that Prof M E Jones be authorized to prepare a report on the various samples of stone in the territory ritory which might be adopted for use in the construction of the capitol building Mr Marshall moved that the governor and secretary be empowered to hire men to clean up the grounds The chairman reported re-ported that according to instructions a row of poplar and box elder trees had been set around the grounds whereupon he was instructed to have another row set around the grounds making five hundred in all It i was decided to make no recommendation concerning the plans received for the new capitol building and that they should be submitted to the legislature intact Throe plans are now exhibition the architects being George F Hanover of Cleveland Ohio O H Placey of Lincoln Nebraska E Meyers Detroit Michigan T O An gell submitted a preliminary study which was highly recommended The commission then adjourned to December 17 |
