Show MOSDAY February 9th 1885 The trial of the young men who rajded Glemreod on Wednesday on the charge of riot was opened and the attorney at-torney for the offenders Mr Baker of Richfield argued that the complaint was too severe but the prosecuting attorney at-torney objected and an examination iRS waived and the accused were bound over in the sum of 500 to appear st Provo before the grand jury The youngsters tried to make it ap pear that they were only out on a little ma with no malicious intent but other parties dont see it in that light J > o further development has occurred as to the author of the shooting the parties mentioned who had returned the fire maintain that they directed their fire high in the air with the inten tion of scaring away the raiders The parents of the unfortunate young man are almost prostrate with grief over their sad misfortune A great many persons from Richfield ana other places came over to witness the investigation aud expressed in se vere terms the way the young men were treated by their Glenwood neighbors VACAEO |
