Show In a Strange Land PORTLAND February 11John G Thompson the wellknown Ohio poli ician died at the Occidental Hotel Seattle yesterday of valvular insuffi iency of heart and dilation For a number of years Mr Thompson had suffered with heart disease but this particular ticular attack was brought on from ei > sure in the performance of his official duties as government timber inspector Last October he was called upon to investigate estigate some matters in AVhatcpm County which necessitated his riding horseback a distance of forty miles in a drenching rain and sleeping in wet blankets On being taken sick he came to Seattle since which time he bag been under the care and treatment of Dr Thos T Minor He has grown weaker day by day and for the past week was kept alive on stimulants His suffering has been intense so much son so-n fact that he could not remain in bed any length of time Tuesday night he got up at least forty times and sat on he edge of the bed for relief Just before be-fore he died he got up sat on the edge of the bed and throwing up his arms uttered a groan and expired The body will be embalmed and sent to Columbus Colum-bus Ohio by express |
