Show Application For New Administrator In Centerville Being Taken CENTERVILLE -- After only three weeks on the job, Centerville's new city administrator admi-nistrator resigned last Friday, effective immediately. MAYOR NEIL Blackburn said (Theadore) Anderson submitted his resignation after announcing he had accepted another similar position (as city manager) in Rifle, Colo. Mr. (Ted) Anderson was hired by Centerville as its city administrator Aug. 1 after a six-months delay following the resignation last Jan. 1 of Ken-ner Ken-ner Killpack. "WE (COUNCIL) felt real good about Mr. Anderson and his qualifications," said Mayor Blackburn. "It appeared that he was very knowledgeable and capable of doing an excellent job for the city. We're going to hate to lose him." Mayor Blackburn said a search has already been started for a replacement. Deadline for applications will be Thursday, Sept. 2, and the screening process by the council coun-cil will begin the following week, the mayor explained. HE SAID it was evident that Mr. Anderson had already applied ap-plied for the Colorado position, posi-tion, which paid considerably more than Centerville could offer, prior to accepting the job here. "It was just a matter of timing as the Colorado job decision de-cision was delayed until after he had been hired by Center- ville." Mr. Anderson came to Centerville Cen-terville from Midvale City where he had served as city administrator from May 1980 until last April where he also served as city recorder, personnel per-sonnel director and budget officer. PREVIOUSLY, he served as city manager of Nephi for more than two years and was employed in Roosevelt for two years as a programs development develop-ment coordinator and planner for Uintah Basin Association of Governments. He received his bachelor of arts degree from BYU in history his-tory and a master's degree in city management from BYU in 1975. grb |
