Show f I General Grant I Mr McGEEaon N Y July 3 General Gen-eral Grant required little attention of the doctor last night During the twelve hours from 9 oclock last night until 9 oclock this morning the patient slept fully eight hours He aroused shortly before9 oclock this morning and announced his intention of being dressed at once This was done and before be-fore 10 oclock the General was ready togo to-go out on the piazza which he did He strolled the length oi the cottage on the veranda and then sat in his chair enjoying en-joying the bright iresh air The clouds had gone and the sunshipe was wa maud m-aud grateful The Generals movements move-ments are firmer this morning his strength seem greater than than at the beginning of the week and there are today to-day those in the family who have firm belief that the General may live until autumn Those near to the patient feel today not a little encouraged It transpires trans-pires that General Grant as early as 6 oblock this morning did some writing durng an interval of wakefulness before be-fore his final rousing for the day Mr MCGREGOR July 3Between 2 and 3 oclock this afternoon General Grant was wheeled in his chair to the hotel His appearance was the signal for a general rising and salutes from the guests on the veranda which he returned briskly After being wheeled around the hotel I he was returned to the cottage Dr Sands left New York at 1115 tonight to-night for JlcGregor |
