Show THE FALL MEETING I Another Interesting Day at tlie Driving Park FIRSTCLASS RUNNING RiCES Ninena Daniel U and Ida Glenn the Wlun rM Some Excellent Time The Frog raunefrrTody The attendance at the Driving Park yesterday on the occasion of the second sec-ond day of the fall meeting was carcely as large as on Monday The chilly weather doubtless has had something some-thing to do with the small turnout and it was noticeable that the general habi tues of the grand stand sought out warm spots rather than occupy the seats for which they had paid However How-ever the weather was far from unpleasant unpleas-ant and those who attended were well repaid for it The drive to the Park is a very pleasant one and the pro gramme daily offered by the association associa-tion deserves much better patronage than it has so far leceived Jake Moritz and Louis Hyarns were agiin conspicuous conspicu-ous in the pool stand but the bidding was not very lively nace Mo 4 trotting 229 class in which had been entered Woodnut Rolla Cling aud Billy Nolan was scratched Matt Cullen had withdrawn his horse on account of lameness and Cling had failed to come to time Under Un-der the circumstances it was deemed prudent to cut the race altogether THE COLT RACE The days programme opened by Race No5 running twoyearolds five eighths mile dash for a purse of 5200 rhe entries were Green Prewitt b centered c-entered by H R Baker Butte AT T Ninena ch f B C Holly Salt Lake Ensilage b c Walter Smith Rajah s c S S Walker Marquis De Piro b c S F Walker Although it had been advertised that the horses would oe called punctually at 2 oclock it was 230 before anj of hem appeared on the track and another half hour was consumed before they finally got oil Ninena poll Green Prewitt second Rajah third Marquis De Piro fourth Ensilage failing to appear There was some little fear as to Rajah as he was acting badly He ran away with his rider durirg the warming up process and again when the first start was made He had gone fully a quarter of a mile befrre he was brought under control After an almost interminable delay the animals got away Ninena taking the lead hard pressed by Rajah Marquis De Piro next and Green Prewitt the favonte in the pools bringing up the rear They passed the judges stand at a furious gait and the positions named above were not changed during the race save that Prewitt fell farther behind and Rajah pressed a little closer to Ninena and in this order they came under the wire amid wild yells from those who had taken the field against the favorite The time 1064 is said to be excellent for a half mile track and this race aroused the enthusiasm of the spectators specta-tors so that bidding at the pools became be-came somewhat livelier Ninoiia I Kjah 2 Marquis De Piro 3 rider pulsed him up under the impression that the race was over As the animal belonged to another party it was not plain to be seen why Mr Holly should have taken so much interest in the matter especially especi-ally when he had entered El Dorado himself TODAYS RACES Race No7 trotting 240 class pursp 250 mile heats beat 3 in 5 in harness Blaizwood b g enteredbyowner J K Gillespie Salt Lake
