witness he said No but he understood she was a f filling witness That he had Seen misinformed as to her disappearance or change of mind however how-ever was evident at 2 oclock when she was at the Cornmissioners office with the other witnesses ready and apparently parentiy lager to i tell her story In answer to Mr Varian she said My name is Sarah Ann Williams Bassett I live at Logan was married few more questions In response to him the witness then said I received a summons from Judge Smth to appear before him and answer to the divorce complaint either on the 30th or 31st of last December the examination further Mr Varian persisted per-sisted Mr Young said if he were allowed al-lowed a moments conference with Mr Varian he could present private reasons that he thought would be satisfactory The two lawyers then withdrew and returning Mr Varian said briefly that he would not pursue his questioning On what account will be unknown until the Grand Jury gpes over the sajne ground
