Show THE KAYSYILLB ACCIDENT Further Particulars of a Very Lamentable Affair Tothe Editor of THE HElULD Noticing an article in7yonr paper in regard to W D Major of Kaysville and thinking you would like full particulars parti-culars is why write at this time On Wednesday morning between 7 and 8 oclock Mr Major went to his I mill to see if matters were all right he being for the last few days quite ill and unable to run the mill himself He had occasion to look over the llume from the top to see whether ornot it was leafcingas he supposedand through some cause he fell a distance of twelve feet injuring his back so badly that he thinking it was broken crossed the creeka distance offifteen feetand there took an ounce of laudanumHe then procured pro-cured a rock crawled into a cellar and attempted to end his life by beating out his own brains with a three cornered stone When found some two hours after he was nerfecly unconscious having struck himself some fifteen or twenty times on the head inflicting severe flesh wounds ranging from a mere scratch to cuts three inches in length and some of them two inches deep Upon examination it was found that the skull was not injured yet the loss of blood was so great that he was in a very critical condition and still remains re-mains so it being doubtful whether he will recover No cause can be assigned for the act His wife and eldest daughter daugh-ter were the first td find him At present he is in a critical condition Dr Ingram is waiting on him Aside from this the people of Kaysville are progressing nicely Yours respectfully R M BARNES KAYSVILLE Nov 6 1885 |
