Show The Engineers Trouble Overu > t J3T Louis December 2GIn an interview inter-view tonight with J H Fitzgerald chairman of the grievance committee that gentleman stated that Grand Chief Arthur and the Executive committee of the general grievance committee had a conference this afternoon with Colonel Hoxie and afler the presentation of their grievances andl full and frank discussionof the whole matter mat-ter Col H xie stated that the whole agreement made in 1882 should be faithfully carried out This was entirely en-tirely satisfactory to the engineers and all danger of trouble of any kind is past Fitzgerald declined to state what the specific grievances of the engineers were but expressed great pleasure at the prompt and satisfactory manner in which they were met and adjusted bv I the railroad company The agreement referred to was made two years aJ6 I between the engineers and Colonel A A Talmadge who was then general manager I man-ager of the Gould system and provides in part that the engineers of passenger trains shall receive 3M cents per mile 100 miles to be a days work The engineers of freight shall receive cents per mile 100 miles or less to be a days work Chief Engineer Arthur left for home tonight I |
