Show Death of a Centenarian As will be seen by notice elsewhere else-where Father Falconbridge has finally fin-ally loosened his firm grip upon life After a sojourn of something over one hundred and one years in this world of toil and trouble the white haired old man who has witnessed the making of much of the history of two countries has closed nis eyes in death and gone to the other side where there is a brighter and better home prepared for the faithful faith-ful honest weary toilers of this earth We well remember Daddy Falcoubridges first appearance in i Salt Lake a score of years ago or more He was then an old man with hair that rivalled the snow for whiteness but his eye was bright his cheek rosy and his step that of a man of 50 His stories of past 1 generations were full of interest and caused him to be regarded as something more sacred in the eyes of youth than other men Afterwards After-wards he became familiar to pretty nearly everybody as Dr Andersons groom And then two or three years ago he disappeared from the street and the wellknown form and features were lost sight of by the public The old man however was not forgotten for when age and infirmity drove him reluctantly to bed kind friends ministered to his wants and loving hands supplied his necessities On the 100th anniversary anni-versary of his birthone year ago in Octobera purse of one hundred bright big round dollars of our daddies was handed him by a few of those who took an interest in him as a living relic of past ages and that was only one instance when thoughtful friends remembered remem-bered the old man It seems almost sinful to mourn for Father Falcon bridge yet there are those who will feel sorrow when they read this morning the announcement of his death |
