Show Surgical Operation On June 2d a Mr Stuarta resident of Springville suffered a compound fracture of the bone of his leg between be-tween the ankle and the knee joints The cause of the fracture was as follows The gentleman was up in the canyon with his team after a load of wood In cutting some timer > tim-er a rock was loosened which rolled to the road and inits mad career ca-reer struck Mr Stuart and fractured his limb No thorough medical or surgical aid being at hand he was treated by his unprofessional friends and the unskillful management of the case at that immediate time caused the necessity of Saturdays operation which was performed by Dr J M Benedictin the presence of Dr Pike of Provo and Prof Bliss The operation was performed at the Sisters Hospital and consisted of the simple action of breaking the fracture again cutting out about lalf an inch ot bone and resetting he fractured limb The operation was in every way successful or j = |
