| Show Escaped Convicts On Wednesday morning a couple of convicts escaped from the Penitentiary Peni-tentiary One was the well known Jared Dalton convicted at Beaver of the heinous offense of outraging and murdering an od lady named Parker near Kockville after having induced her to go out alone under the pretense of meeting her son Batten was sentenced to twelve years imprisonment The other convict was named Hayes and was sent up for three years They were tiken into the bakehouse and while the guard was dong something else or away slipped out of the back door This was about 6 oclock in the morning and it was dark The guard discovering their exit and hearing them run snot at them without effect Immediately thereafter two of the guards secured se-cured lanterns and it having snowed began to follow the tracks They kept up the scent until about 10 oclock or four hours lateiywhen they came across the runaways about two miles beyond Jenkins farm across the Jordan They are now in their old quarters |
