Show JENNINGS SONS While Mr Frank Jennings of the firm of William Jennings c Sons was in New York it was stated in these columns that he was purchasing the most extensive i stock of goods ever secured by the firm and facetiously added that he would be ablj to supply drummers instead of having them supply him This was less of a joke than one would at first believe as a trip through the enormous establishment establish-ment testifies No person would have any idea whatever of the stock that is carried by this firm without going through the whole building and the changes that are being made include a large portion of the structure west of the Emporium Empor-ium Building proper The office is now up stairs and is materially enlarged en-larged while a novel idea has been hit upon of keeping a grocery sample sam-ple room in connection with the office to save running through the building A new elevator has just been placed in and is now tinning admirably The upper floors are filled with dry goods in J similar articles ar-ticles The front room especially over the rqtail dry goods department depart-ment is very heavily stocked and everything displayed so that it can easily be seen and buyers can pick out goods without any difficulty This deoarfcment in chides notions hosiery and every thing in that line During last year Jennings iS Sons sold ten car loads of stoves and are now prepared for a much larger business They are enjoying a run on the celebrated Bismarck range which is deservedly deserv-edly popular On this floor also are their stock of clocks which they wholesale and retail and they certainly cer-tainly have a large and choice selection selec-tion It is in the basement however how-ever that a person wants to look to see whether they carry any goods The whole place is packed with all kinds of articles in the grocery hardware and crockery line Think of seeing two or three car loads of tubs of brooms cask upon cask of crockery and any amount in sacks of sugar whole stacks of canned fruits barrels on barrels of pickles I syrups and taffy to see a small stock of 50000 cigars would knock the Reveries of a Bachelor into another shape while everything else is in proportion It is needless to say anything about the retail departments de-partments because the public is posted in this regard but whatever they retail can also be had wholesale whole-sale and will be found conveniently con-veniently arranged in its own department Mr Frank Jennings Jen-nings is desirous of having gentlemen gen-tlemen and ladies from the country to give him a call and see bis stock I of goods and he says he does not care what they want they can have it in any quantity in any qualityin any style and at a low figure In purchasing such heavy supplies they enjoy special advantages and are therefore prepared to make advantageous advan-tageous offers to the public Their goods and the quantities speak for themselves The public is simply I recommended to call and see |
