Show Accidentally Shot On Sunday another of those periodical peri-odical accidents of which the hunter isalmost constantly in danger took placeOn that day a number of I boys residents of Sandy had gone f out hunting and during the hard storm which was experienced everywhere every-where in the valley for a time they took shelter in an old shanty For some reason one of the young fellows fel-lows named William Hardcastle went outside of the shanty while the others were engaged in fixing their guns One youug man seems to have had his gun cocked and a strap catching on the trigger pulled the hammer down The gun which was loaded with buckshot discharged and the shot went through the shanty and struck young Hardcastle in the sack prostrating him He was carried back to Sandy and on Monday Mon-day morning brought to this city and taken to St Marks Hospital for treatment Dr Bane took four buckshot out and says there are i still four more in the young mans I body They are however so deeply embeddedin the fleshy and backpart of the thigh that he does not deem it prudent to take them out Besides none of the nerves are interfered with and the arteries remain untouched un-touched he therefore thinks it just as well that the shot should remain The young man is feeling nicely and everything favors his recovery He I will however always carry the buckshot buck-shot about him as a gentle reminder that when one goes hunting on a Sunday it is just as well to leave the shotgun at home r |
