guards wa killed and two wounded The report re-port is that there are about three thousand miners in the band who made the attack they havIng come in from the surrounding country coun-try The telegraph lines are all cut and the sheriffs who are in the vicinity were thus prevented from having communication with the governor so they could call out the militia One of the hoppers were burned during the night entailing loss of about 4000 No definite information in-formation has been receIved here yet for the reason that communica tlon IS cut off As soon as the line are repaired communication will be had with the Governor direct at Columbus and the Kicking Valley officials and coal companies have run down a sptcial early ihia morn ing and expect further trouble later in the day or tonight The name of the man killed during dur-ing the firing at Snake Hollow i 5 William Hare an elderly man ann an-n guard residing in Logan Jacob Lift also of Logan was shot in the leg and another guard in the head The striking miners are concentrating concentrat-ing tonight at Murray City and the deputy sheriff in charge there has asked the sheriff for aid It is thought troops will bs called out before be-fore morning At all other points In the valley everything is reported quiet Murray City is about five miles from Snake Hollow and not swell s-well guarded The rioters are firing on the guards at Sand Bun and JLongetreth mines Both places have called fOr help and the militia at Lancaster and New Lexington have been ordered or-dered to be in readiness for marching march-ing orders Owing to the cutting of the wires particulars are obtained ob-tained with difficulty Govern Hoadley has telegraphed the Sheriffs of Athens Hotklnjr and Perry counties All means in your control
