Show I Funeral Services The funeral services over the remains re-mains of Mr D J Taylor son of President John Taylor who died at New York last week to k place from the Fourteenth Ward Assembly Assem-bly Hall on Wednesday beginning at Hoon They were very impressive impres-sive and a very large congregation of relatives and friends was present The stand was occupied by Presidents Presi-dents George Q Cannon and Joseph F Smith Apostles Wilford Woodruff Wood-ruff F D Richards F M Lyman and John Henry Smith Counselor D H Wells Bishop Edward Hunter President A M Cannon Bishop Thomas Taylor of church dignitaries and several other gentlemen gen-tlemen President John Taylor surrounded sur-rounded by his family and that of his deceased son occupied the space immediately in front of the stand Bishop Thomas Taylor conducted con-ducted the services which were commenced by the choir singing the hymn Mourn not the Dead who Peaceful lay Prayer was offered up by Apostle F M Lyman when the choir sang Rest for the Weary Soul Appropriate remarks were then made by Bishop Thomas Taylor President Joseph F Smith Apostle Wilford Woodruff and President George Q Cannon in the order named The chair sang the hymn Rest Spirit Rest and Apostle J H Smith pronounced the benediction The funeral cortege then formed in the following order Yehicle containing con-taining pall bearers and brothers of the deceased hearse with the remains re-mains carriage holding the t widow of the deceased and near relatives carriage of President John Taylor followed by others with members of his family relatives and intimate acquaintances of the bereaved household church authorities officers and employees of Z C M I associates of the deceased in life the general > ubl1c The procession was very lengthy and by its numbers num-bers and the respect shown gave some idea of the esteem in which the deceased was held The ioute to the cemetery was traversed and the mortal remains of David J Taylor were returned to the dust The services were very imposing The hall h had been decorated and fitted up for the purpose and the offerings of flowers were numerous and beautiful |
