Show Fair Notes Preparations for the fair are being pushed forward rapidly The vacant lots between the old market building and the Museum are filled with stalls and additions are now being made to the main building At a meeting of the board held last evening the fo owing business of public interest was transacted Awarding committees are expected ex-pected to be on the grounds to make the awards at 9 am sharp on Tuesday Tues-day October 4th Supervisor W II Rowe reported that Major G S Erb had made a liberal proposition in behalf of the Electric Light company to illuminate illumi-nate the main building and fairgrounds fair-grounds with eight or ten electric lights for a week or ten days The proposition was accepted and the management will thus be enabled to hold the fair open at nights for the convenience and benefit of those who are unable to attend during the day The effect will be very beautiful beau-tiful and this will be the first time that the D A M Society has been able to open the exhibition to the public at night A number of special committees suggested as aids to the supervisory committees were appointed Several of those appointed were present and consented to do all in their power to push forward the good work Everything shows that satisfactory satisfac-tory progress is being made and there no longer remains any doubt about the approaching fair being the finest exhibition ever given in Utah |
