UAW Rflsfit The Bountiful Region of the Utah Association of Women will present a program on the destructive forces of basic "Humanism" June 26 at 7 p.m. at the Davis County Library, Lib-rary, South Branch. THE PROGRAM will consist con-sist of short talks presented by well-informed chapter members mem-bers on various aspects of "Humanism." Also, Julie Wilson, Bountiful Bounti-ful South Region president, will discuss their region's study of learning if humanism is influencing the local schools. The talks will be followed fol-lowed by small discussion groups. The public is welcome to attend. A SECOND part of this program prog-ram will be presented on July 17 at the library. Pat Mitchell of the state task force on Humamism will discuss how to recognize and work to eliminate elimin-ate this destructive force in education of our children. Many people are completely unacquainted and unaware of what Humanism is and what a pgwerful influence it has upon our society, particularly in education. THE HUMANIST Manifesto Manifes-to II, 1973 state sits beliefs as "We fine insufficient evidence for belief in the existence of a supernatural God. . . as non-theists, non-theists, we begin with humans not God, nature not deity, .we can discover no divine purpose or providence for the human species. . .humans are responsible for what we are or will become. Moral values derive de-rive their source from human experience. Ethics is autonomous auton-omous and situational." The philosophy includes the approval of abortion, free love, premarital sex, homosexuality, homose-xuality, euthanasia and suicide.
