Show RUN OVER I A Man Willfully Run Over by His Partner Bafore 3 oclock yesterday afternoon after-noon a man won run over by a wagon on Second South etreet a short distance dis-tance west of the Idaho store A crowd was standing on the eidewak having been aUiatnl by stirne words that were pasuing between the person afterwards injured named W B Hess and a party in the wagon John Tyman Tyman was seen to start the team when Hess jumped and grabbed the horses by the bit and held on as far as the corner Tvman I all the while whipping up the ani maa and striking Hess until the latter slipped aid fell and one of the horses stepped on his cheat whlo the fore and hind nigh wagon wheels passed over his waist He was picked up and taken into one of the hlla near by and lay there for a time until un-til removed to the White House where he now remains in a bad condition i Tyman the party who run over Hess with another person who was in the wagon at the time ran on turned and proceeded down the State Road never stopping t look at Hess Hess gives the story this way and there is every reason t behave it correct He and Tyman starlsd from Eurekt Nevada on the 18th of December t travel together on a business speculation and an agreement agree-ment was entered into which a receit in the possession of Hess shows had been complied with so far as he was concerned Before starting they took in a man named Hayes who had no money but who agreed to divide equally with Hess Tyman and himself whatever money he might make provided they would allow him to accompany them I was known he had not kept his word and in one of the saloons yesterday yes-terday the parties having arrived here a day or two previous accused Hayes of being untrue te his agreement agree-ment Hayes answered that he had made a ccitiin amount and had kept i and wa3D d glad of it Further Fur-ther words passed and the parties went into the rear of the saloon and indulged in a short fight in which Heas was bruised somewhat and the parties separated I bad been arranged ar-ranged that Tyman to whom the team belonged eho ld take Hess to I Fort Douglaa in tb afternoon and about the time they were togo to-go Hess ran across him She S-he waa loading Hayes trinkets in the wagon He immediately asked Tyman what he was going to do to which he received the response that he would dd soon find out Hayes and Tyman got in the wagon when Hess wanted to talk to them but they concluded not to listen and commenced driving off It was then that Hess t ok bold of the bits and Tymnn said Ill soon gt rid of the Gd dd son of a bh and drove ahead with the result stated Hess said they have carried nfl some of his clothing and other things and his contract with Tyman shows that tbe team was to be used by both aa far as Yrrki Color doA do-A complaint was sworn out by a witness to tho affair ocd endeavors will be made to capture Tyman and Hayes and bring them back Hess ia badly injured and for a time thought he was so near his end that he telegraphed for his wife and child to come to him Besides the injury inflicted by tho horse stamping stamp-ing on his chest the wagon wheels it i was feared had inflicted some internal inter-nal injuries but it is believed nothing of a very serious charactei bas been done However he is unable to getup get-up and for a long time could not move his legs or body |
