take Into consideration the propriety of ueco tinting a loan or otherwise devising means to raise funds to pay the purchase money of the land known us the Mill Farm recently purchased pur-chased for a park for this city re spectfullylreport that they havo investigated in-vestigated the whole subject and consider that the purchase of 110 acres of land adjacent to the city for a park is n highly commendable move and one that will meet the general approval of the inhabitants of the city We do not however deem I wise policy to increase the indebtedness of the city by borrowing money to pay for land for a park while the corporation owns landed property that brings in little or no revenue which disposed of would furnish all the means required to make said purchase Your committee i informed that the Mayor has a standing offer of 825000 for the lot owned by the corporation on the northeast corner of West Temple and First South streets known a the MarketLot In view of these facts we recommend recom-mend that the sum of 827500 twentyseven thousand five hundred dollars be appropriated for the payment pay-ment of the purchase money of the Mill Farm property that tLe funds arising from the recent sale of lotsin the Warm Springs pasture amounting to 85945 be used in part payment of said appropriation that the Mayor be authorized to Eel the Market Lot before referred t forth for-th sum of 825000 andthatso much of said means a may be necessary be used for the payment of the balance bal-ance of the appropriation for purchase pur-chase of the park Respectfully 5 H DlNWOODEY
