Show < = TELEGRAPHIC Telescoping Trains St LOUIE 25 Pwiseaeera arrived on I the delayed Ohio Mississippi train this evening report a serious accident near Seymour Ills at 4 oclock this morning I by which two persons wore killed and quite a number wounded It appears that trains No3 acd 5 left Cincinnati last evening an hem apart with orders to run slow near Seymour in consequence of the track being in bd condition No3 hitched on a Louisville sleeper at Worth Verncn when tour miles west of Seymour Sey-mour while running about three miles Rn hour as per order it was run into by I Nu 5 which was running at a fast rate of spetd The passenger coach which I was on the rear ol the sleeper was driven I nearly half way through partly on top of the sleeper The engineer of No 5 and a little child belonging to Mrs Tay lor were killed and a dozen or more pas servers wounded Most of those wounded wore loCI passengers and were taken to their homes Mrs Taylor mother of the dead child ws badly injured Mr and Mrs Perdue of Greenville Mo had alp a-lp and arm brazen James Ssvanaon leg and rib broken Albert Ridge head hurt j a porter of the sleeper seriously i juted The name of the dead engineer engin-eer is not known It is said train No5 left Seymour immediately behind No 3 and was ruunirg at the rate of thirty miles an hour when t collided Cincinnati 24 Later reports from the accident near Seymour Ind on the Ohio S Mississippi road show one killed The flvo persons left at Mitchell are doing well this morning I |
