Show Danger from Swings I The following communication from exMayor Daniel R Clymer embodies an important suggestion which it would be well to heed i Near to each end of a joist a hole is bored Run a rope through each I hole and tie three knots on top of said joist to secure it to hold the swing seat Then tie a knot IL each rope three inches below the joist P this done tie a strong safety rope J j under said knot then lay this rope loosely over the top of the joist near the ends of the swing so that when the rope breaks at the greatest i point of friction and wear right under the joist the safety rope i lying idle over the joist top will atones at-ones catch and rescue the falling f I person from injury and even > 1 DEATH |
