Show w B hpBf 8d oru PrOiipo t9 Chicago HThe latest returns from agricultural districts tributary to this market while very conflicting seem to establish pretty clearly that in tbe whole northwest the winter wheat crop is saved in good crder and with about an average yield that the spring wheat crop is as a rule less to the acre than last year but that the increased acreago will make the yield somewhat greater than that of 1879 provided tho weather becomes a little more favorable Alternations of extreme heat and drenching rains have jeopardized the crop in some section particularly in Minnesota and Wisconsin but tbe latest advices indicate the prospect of more favorable and settled weather and unless the prospects are changed the spring wheat crop will be safelj baivasted within two or three weeks Oats will not be as short as last year the yield being large and the safety of the crop practically assured The universal report respecting earn is that the acreage is largely increased the condition 13 excellent and the prospects for a good crop as good as ever bebre The only exception is in the wet lowlands where the corn has been nearly flooded out It is however true that the crop ia not quite so forward as in previous years and same fears of early and destructive destruc-tive frost are entertained Chicago 14 Inter Oceans Washington Wash-ington The statistician of tbe agricultural agri-cultural department will tomorrow give the figures showing that while there has been some damage by the drought in the northwest yet the crops as a whole ara m splendid condition l |
