Show KILLED A Han Named Curby Twice Shot in the Head The following particulars concerning concern-ing tbe shooting at Frisco of which word was received here by telegraph are taken from the Southern Utah Times A shooting affray occurred in Fat Maloys saloon on Saturday between a gambler named Curby and one Thomas who is in i the employ of Smith the dairyman which ended fatally for Curby Thomas receiving receiv-ing a flesh wound in the arm The facts are as follows Some previous ill feeling seems to bare I existed of which nothing is posi tively known and their meeting this morning was only a continuation continu-ation of tbe affAir Their first meeting meet-ing took placo at Forgies place this morning and it is alleged by those who were thero that Curby gave Thomas a good deal of abuse and would and undoubtedly have shot him then but for the interference of the by gtandera Later in the day they met at Pt Malays saloon where the tragedy took place Thomas was standing outaide and come distance from the door leaning against one of the pillars that supports the porch when Curby who was standing near tho door said to Tnomw You are a G d 8 df a b of a coward it you aint step out into the street Thomas stepped out with his pistol in his band and Curby turned and walked into the ealoon Thomas following fol-lowing him Just as he stepped inside of the door Curby turned and fired at him inflicting a flesh wound in his right arm when he piomptly returned re-turned shooting Carby twice One ball entered the right corner of his mouth ranged upward and came out at the back of his head the other also passed through the head He died I instantly Thomas went immediately to a surgeon sur-geon and had his arm dressed We do not know of an arrest The coroner cor-oner has taken charge of the body this ternoon I |
